How it Works
Valium belongs to the class of medications known as benzodiazepines. This medication has many effects on a body including reduction of anxiety, relaxing the muscles, impairing the short term memory, stopping seizures and causing sleepiness.
All of the medications in this class have the potential to cause these effects, but how much will depend on which medication you are taking.
Potential side effects
As is the case with all medications, it is possible to experience side effects with Valium. Not everyone that takes this medication will notice side effects as it is generally well tolerated. If you do notice side effects, they are most often minor and require little or no treatment. Less commonly reported are side effects that are more serious.
Commonly reported side effects might include: fatigue, coordination issues, and drowsiness.
