How It Works
BuSpar does not belong to a class of any other types of medications for anxiety. It is not effective at relaxing the muscles or preventing seizures and it cannot treat insomnia. It isn't clear how this medication is an effective anxiety treatment, but it has been found that it works with brain chemicals. It is very likely that it works with the dopamine and serotonin in the brain.
Potential Side Effects
As is the case with all medications, there is the possibility of side effects while taking this medicine. Not everyone that takes this medication will notice side effects as it is generally well tolerated. If you do notice side effects, they are most often mild and require little or no treatment. Other side effects that are more serious are rarely reported.
Commonly reported side effects might include: headaches, drowsiness, dizziness, and nausea.
