How It Works?
Cozaar belongs to the class of medications known as angiotensin II blockers. This medication works to block the receptors for angiotensin II. This action makes angiotensin II less effective and helps the blood vessels to stay open, which works to lower the blood pressure.
Potential Side Effects
As is the case with all medications, there is the potential for side effects while taking Cozaar. Not everyone that takes this medication will notice side effects as it is generally well tolerated. If you do notice side effects, they are usually mild and require little or no treatment. Other side effects that are more serious are less commonly reported.
Most of the commonly reported side effects include: nasal congestion, dizziness, flu or cold, infection or back pain.
