Lorcet - an overview
Lorcet contains hydrocodone, which belongs to the class of medications known as narcotic analgesics. Acetaminophen is not as strong, and can help to increase hydrocodone's benefits. When used in combination, it can ease pain that is moderate to severe.
Uses
This medicine is prescribed to ease pain that is moderate to severe. It is made up of the narcotic analgesic called hydrocodone and the non narcotic analgesic called acetaminophen. Hydrocodone helps to change the way that the body experiences and reacts to pain. Acetaminophen is also effective at reducing fevers.
Secondary effects
Some of the common secondary effects include: nausea, upset stomach, dizziness, constipation, dry mouth and dizziness. Some of the less commonly reported serious secondary effects include: clammy skin, allergic reaction, extreme weakness, seizures, bleeding, jaundice, unconsciousness, decrease in appetite, bruising, rash, hot flashes, itching, loss of hearing, swelling, decrease in sex drive and twitching muscles. Lorcet also has the ability to cause CNS depression. Recreational users of this drug will likely seek the effects that include: drowsiness, relaxation and euphoria. When more than four grams of acetaminophen is taken in one day, it has the potential to cause serious liver damage and/or failure. Lorcet has the potential to affect reaction time, impair the motor skills and cause mood changes.
Possible Interactions
