Librium belongs to the class of medications called benzodiazepines. These medications are known to have many effects on a body including the reduction of anxiety, causing the muscles to relax, sleepiness, stopping seizures and causing trouble with the memory.
Librium is a medication that has been approved for the treatment of alcohol withdrawal and anxiety. This medication works to enhance the calming effects of certain chemicals in the brain. Librium can be found in capsule form and is usually prescribed to be taken anywhere from two to four times daily. As is the case with all medications, there is the potential for side effects including drowsiness, confusion and problems with coordination.

Potential Side Effects
As with all medications, there is the potential for side effects while taking Librium. Not everyone that takes this medication will notice side effects, as it is generally well tolerated. If you notice side effects they will be mild and require little or no treatment. Less commonly reported are side effects that are serious.
Commonly reported side effects might include: problems with coordination, confusion and drowsiness.
