How It Works
Paxil CR belongs to the class of medications called SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors). These medications work with the brain chemical serotonin, which is one of many chemicals the brain uses to transmit messages between cells.
Paxil CR is available in tablets that have been specifically designed to evenly and slowly release this medication in the body. The thought is that this will offer long lasting and consistent results all day long and that it has the potential for less side effects. Keep in mind that Paxil CR has never been directly studied against the regular version of Paxil, active ingredient paroxetine hydrochloride.
Possible Side Effects
As is the case with all medications, there is possibility to experience side effects while taking Paxil CR. Not everyone that takes this medication will notice side effects, as it is generally well tolerated. When you do notice side effects, they are usually minor and require little or no treatment.
