How it works
Prozac is part of the class of drugs known as "selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors." Also known as SSRIs, these medications work with serotonin in the brain. Serotonin is used to transport messages from brain cell to brain cell.
Potential Side Effects
As is the case with all medications, there is the potential for side effects while taking Prozac. Not everyone that takes this medication will notice side effects as it is generally well tolerated. If you do notice side effects, they are usually minor and require little or no treatment. Less commonly reported side effects that are serious may occur.
