Benefits
My doctor prescribed Actonel for my weakening postmenopausal osteoporotic bones. I take one tablet every Tuesday morning on empty stomach with a glass full of water and then sit upright for about half an hour. I had a bone scan one year after starting this drug and it showed marked improvement. My bone density is still below average, though greater than before, and I need to continue taking Actonel to maintain it at this level.
Side Effects
I have a long list of horrible symptoms, of which joint pain, backache and muscle soreness are just a few. Many a times at night, I get such horrible cramps in legs and foot muscles that it becomes difficult to move or walk. The heartburn is becoming ever more disturbing. The treatment is working but the side effects of Actonel medication are unbearable.
