Ativan IV has made my chemo treatments tolerable. Before this treatment, I was ready to give up. I asked my oncologist to stop the chemo because the horrible nausea and violent vomiting were more intolerable than the actual cancer. Instead of stopping the treatments, he now has the nurse give an IV dose of Ativan medication, about 45 minutes before the chemo. I feel sleepy while receiving the chemo, but not violently ill afterwards.
