I started Methadone as part of a drug treatment program for heroin addiction. I was told it would wean me off heroin. I had tried to quit heroin on my own before, so I knew about with drawls. I thought anything that would help me to avoid that, was a good thing. That was 10 years ago, I guess it worked, I don’t take heroin anymore. I traded my heroin addiction in for a Methadone addiction.
Side Effects
The withdrawals from Methadone are much worse than heroin could ever be. Pain, muscle cramps and spasms, and convulsions are just the beginning when you try to get off Methadone. Just like heroin, a tolerance develops, so I have to get the doctor to increase the dosage.
