Benefits
I take Lantus for my type 1 diabetes as long acting insulin along with another, short acting insulin. Lantus has proved quite effective in controlling my blood sugar and maintaining the levels stable through out the day and I do not have to worry about getting hypos frequently, though my sugar level still drops down the normal some times, but it is much rare than before.
Side Effects
A slight burning at the injection site, that is either getting better with time or I am getting used to it now. I have also gained some weight, but apart from that, there isn’t any other undesirable effect.
