Adderall Interactions

 
As it the case with other medications, Adderall can interact with certain other drugs. If you are taking antacids, Phenobarbital, or any type of MAO inhibitors, tell your doctor before you start taking Adderall. Some drug interactions that are possible with Adderall may increase the level of Adderall that is in your blood, which can result in side effects. They may even cause life-threatening conditions, such as dangerously high blood pressure. To avoid danger, talk to your doctor about any Adderall interactions with other drugs that you may be taking.
 
Keep in mind that your physician may be aware of the other drugs you are taking and will be monitoring you. You must not start taking, stop taking or change the Adderall dosage until you have consulted with your doctor.
 
Adderall drug should never be used if you are taking any of the following drugs. This can lead to serious drug interactions: any type of MAO inhibitors. You should avoid using MAO inhibitors within the first two weeks (14 days) before, during, and even after treatment with Adderall as a possibly fatal drug reaction can occur.
 
You must also report to your doctor any use of drugs that might cause an increase in seizure risk. This is also known as decreased seizure threshold. The drugs to watch out for are: isoniazid, bupropion, theophylline, phenothiazines, tramadol, and tricyclic antidepressants, to name a few. Your doctor can give you the complete list.
 
It is important to check all labels on your medicines as they might contain certain ingredients that can cause an increase in your heart rate and/or blood pressure. Your pharmacist or doctor can tell you about these products and how to use them safely. When taking Adderall, you should also avoid consuming large amounts of any type of beverages that contain caffeine. Avoid eating large quantities of chocolate. Caffeine is known to increase . Also, this medication can affect certain lab tests, such as urine steroid results and blood tests. Remember to tell lab personnel that you are on this drug before they begin their testing.
